AH, I HAVE DISCOVERED WHY I HATE YOUR GUTS.

He acts like Star Trek is no longer needed for its ability to address social issues, so now why not just turn it into a bright and shiny action flick and nothing else? Dizzy bastard.

He took a project on without really realizing what it meant to so many people. I’m not just talking about those “crazy” nerds that stand in lines at conventions for hours. I’m talking about Marton Luther King Jr., who begged Nichelle Nichols not to quit the show. I’m talking about the hundreds of men and women that joined the navy or airforce, worked in the space industry, or became astronauts because of Star Trek. He’s forgotten all those people. He didn’t have faith that Star Trek in its purest form could reach all people– because it never reached him. So he molded it into something very different to fit a societal standard of action movies that pervades Hollywood today.

He missed that mark. And he pats himself on the back for it.

“…Too philosophical for me.” ?

Now I know why I hate despise you: As l-d and taz said, you completely missed the point, yet for some reason you celebrate it.

Florida sinkhole swallows man

breakingnews:

CNN: A man swallowed by sinkhole under his bedroom in Florida is believed dead, authorities said early Friday, after monitoring equipment found no signs of life.

Using radar, engineers determined the sinkhole is about 100 feet in diameter, but it is not visible above ground except from inside the house.

This strange and unidentified creature was caught in the Willard Library’s security cameras.

Willard Library is bookmarked on my PC for easy checking. The moment I ‘entered’ the room, there was this creature that seemed to be crawling towards the cam. It had no hands, no face and was wearing black and gray. There is a small footstool on the left which after the creature vanished, was now on the right side. Then the books atop the shelf on the right, were replaced by a black cover with something under it. Still later, not by much, the white chair was pulled from the small table.

Gladly, my pics are being submitted for your interest. Please forgive there being so many, but many things happened with no one in the room. Do you know what it is? Or how the stool moved? And the books on top-where did they go? My eyes never left the room!:”

it’s not like i hate the holidays or something, me and them just don’t really get along

uh wow 23 people away from my next follower milestone?

i just remembered to check it, because i have it hidden from my dashboard

but wow every single one of you are fantastic and i actually don’t know why you’re here but you can’t leave now there’s no going back leave your sanity at the door

Okay, stupid question time (haha because when was the last time I did something cosplay-related and didn’t just wing it), but I think I need outside opinions here on what exactly is being said.

This is what I’m going to use for the Fellowship cloak I may or may not actually be making.

You scroll down a bit, and you see a section labeled “The Cloak”. Good, right? Clear. But there’s a bit that says “Cut a semicircle with a radius about 10” longer than you want the cloak to be (if you use the full 60” width the straight line will be 120” long). “

The 120” part is throwing me off, and the entire sentence is….just confusing me, really. If the fabric is 60” wide, wouldn’t the straight line be….60”? Are they saying I should be cutting out the semicircle much larger, and in two pieces, so that half of it is 60” and sew them together with a middle back seam?

But, the thing is, I don’t see any indication of a seam in the diagram they’ve drawn up and they make it sound like you’re cutting out an entire semicircle piece.
