Rat, Wedding, Bow. What?

Okay, so we in the Sherlock fandom now know what the three magic words are. Rat, wedding and bow.

RAT
Rat most likely refers to the mentioned case The Giant Rat of Sumatra. Never was an actual case in canon, much like The Aluminium Crutch, but it was referenced. The Giant Rat of Sumatra was referenced in the case The Sussex Vampire from the collection The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes.

WEDDING
There were a few different cases involving weddings. It could be one of three cases (off the top of my head): The Sign of Four which has Watson married to Mary Morstan which most people automatically assume, The Solitary Cyclist from The Return of Sherlock Holmes which detailed the client being trapped in a wedding scam for her dead uncle’s money, or The Noble Bachelor from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which detailed a bride who disappeared the day after her wedding.

BOW
This doesn’t mean bow as in a hair bow or a violin bow, but a bow as in bowing to the audience. In this case, there is only one case that fits: His Last Bow. This is the last case in canon chronology and it takes place on the eve of World War I.

This is all I can really read out of these words so far, but I hope this helps others.

EDIT: The thing about His Last Bow is that’s also the name of a collection of stories. So, there’s that to consider.
