So let me tell you about the shittiest parent on the motherfucking planet.

I work at a grocery store and this man comes in with his 11 year old son. He buys a pack a cigarettes and a two cases of beer. The son was holding a two dollar drawing pad and placed it on the belt and I guess the dad didn’t notice it at first but when I was about to scan the pad he asked where’d it have come from and turned towards the kid and asked “Did you put that shit up there?”. He told me to put it back and then told his 11 year old child that he “ain’t paying for that gay ass notebook.”.  So I looked at the kid, who was close to tears and saying how he ran out of paper at home and my heart broke. So I gave the pad to him, for free, and told the dad I would take care of it. I gave the kid some tokens for a game outside and said I would look forward to buying some of his drawings and paintings when he’s all famous. He kids face was so priceless and I thought everything was good. But then, about 10 ten minutes after giving the kid his notebook, I walked outside and saw this. The drawing pad all ripped up and tossed on the pavement. I could only imagine what happened in the parking lot, but I know that that poor kid heart is fucking ripped apart, just like this pad.

I’m fucking horrified that there are parents like this, who, just because it’s not masculine or gender specificthey won’t let their children follow their true passions or explore interests that lead to their happiness. Even more so, I’m horrified that parents don’t care about the fine arts anymore because it doesn’t have job security. Since when did it ever matter to a child if their passion makes them money or not? Parenting is about supporting whatever makes your child happy. Have some fucking consideration for your child’s wants not your homophobic and anti-art ideals.

Top 5 OTP’s of 2012

[3] . Jack Frost & Pitch Black [Rise of the Guardians]

From hereon out with this list it’s going to get more and more difficult to come up with things to say about these pairings that I haven’t already screamed about all over my blog fifty other times. Jack and Pitch are an interesting pair for me, though. It was no secret that I shipped them from the second I saw Jack’s design for the first time months before the movie’s release. I could only hope there would be actual basis in the film to support this shallow ship of mine, and I got more than I ever could have hoped for. The two share so many similarities between them, the same grudges, the same loneliness and pain. There are literally no other beings in the world that understand what they both went through. It’s just, yanno, too bad they didn’t really acknowledge that outright in the movie. Oh well though, you take what you can get when it comes to animated films sometimes, and like I said, I got way more than I could’ve asked for.

Okay so this is a map of Panem..image

Throughout all the books in my head it was just like this

“But who will protect you?!”

Alright. Take a look at this scene for a second, because I missed this the first couple times. It’s time for another overanalyzation, shit quality gif accompaniment.

You see in the third gif? Jack says something to North right before Jamie steps up. Jack touched North’s hand, reassuring, and North shakes his head. Jack looks like he’s about to do something, and North doesn’t want him to do it. For a split second, you see Jack looked scared (maybe as he sees the kids), and then he puts on a brave face as he turns and faces Pitch.

My thought? Jack was going to give himself up to Pitch for whatever it may be worth. Jack’s the only Guardian with powers at this point, so he’s really maybe the only one worth something to Pitch. And even though it’s a long shot, Jack knows Pitch wanted to join forces.

Jack’s trying to strike a deal with himself as the bartering chip, most likely for his death.

He’s willing to do everything it takes, give up his life and his freedom (the only thing he had for 300 years) to have some sort of chance at protecting these kids, even though Pitch isn’t really all that great with keeping deals.

I think this is another point where Jack matured greatly. /shrug

Some quick notes for all you artists out there on my methodology for painting pretty girls. I get asked this a lot…..

HAHAHAHAHA I HAVE ALWAYS HATED THIS GUY. This is the same artist who once took one of my fanarts (something from Aladdin I think) and painted over it without my permission, then had the gall to post a “side by side comparison” on his Facebook or something, with a caption that I had “munted Jasmine” (my fanart wasn’t good enough for him apparently) and with the general air that his paintover was obviously better. He also has painted over Frida Khalo’s work in order to make her “prettier” and overall this guy is an appalling, sexist pig and I JUST CAN’T.
To be fair, I think this is fine as a guide for “how to draw a typical ultrastylized pin-up made-up white girl in the style of some types of Western animation” and there’s nothing wrong with choosing to stylize some of your female characters like this. Plenty of great artists (for example, loish) draw girls in a similar vein. It’s the way that this “guide” is presented and worded (“pretty girl recipe” lol) and EVERYTHING ABOUT IT REALLY that is just hilariously terrible. And judging by who the artist is - again, an appalling personality FOR REASONS BESIDES THIS “GUIDE” - I’m not surprised.
